UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 – Notification Released
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the notification for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 on 04 February 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online through the UPSC official website.

Total Expected Vacancies: Approximately 933
Vacancies include reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as per Government of India rules.

๐ Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Final-year students may apply, but they must produce proof of passing the degree examination before the Main Examination.

Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 32 Years
Age Relaxation:
OBC: 3 Years
SC/ST: 5 Years
PwBD: As per UPSC norms

SC / ST: Unlimited
PwBD: As per rules

₹100 – General / OBC / EWS (Male candidates)
No Fee – Women, SC, ST, PwBD candidates
Fee can be paid through Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI.

Candidates must apply online through the UPSC portal by following these steps:
Visit the official website: https://upsconline.nic.in
Click on “Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026”
Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) to generate a Universal Registration Number (URN)
Fill the Common Application Form (CAF)
Upload photograph, signature, and ID proof
Pay the application fee (if applicable)
Submit the application and download the confirmation page for future reference
๐ Aadhaar Card is recommended for easy identity verification.
๐ Examination Centres
The Preliminary Examination will be conducted in 80+ cities across India.
Examination centres are allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis.
⚠️ Important Instructions
Mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited.
Face Authentication will be conducted at the exam centre.
No correction or withdrawal of application is allowed after final submission.
